Before you request a CAS please ensure that:

Your offer is unconditional. Please note, we are unable to sponsor visas for part-time programmes.
You have firmly accepted your offer to study at SOAS.
Your programme of study start date is within 6 months.
You have made the required payment of £4,000 towards your tuition or you have official evidence that meets the exemption criteria

Before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) can be issued, SOAS is required by UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) to collect information about your UK immigration history and/or current and previous UK study to ensure that you are eligible for Student Visa sponsorship. We cannot issue you with a CAS until we have received your fully and accurately completed form. Failure to complete the form as required may affect your ability to study with us.

SOAS reserves the right to request additional information following receipt of this form.

Please note that if you have not successfully completed the course of study in the UK (i.e., you have withdrawn from the course or you haven't been awarded the qualification due to failure in some modules), you can not apply for you via in the UK.

Please note UKVI has time limits for the number of years you can study at certain levels. For below degree level (e.g. International Foundation, Pre-Masters, Pre-sessional) the limit is usually 2 years. For degree level (Undergraduate) the limit is usually 5 years. If you have studied in the UK we need to ensure that you have sufficient time left, if you do not, your visa application will be refused.

UKVI also require applicants applying in the UK to demonstrate academic progression. We, therefore, need to know if you have previously studied in the UK and ensure that you successfully completed the programme.

Please note that once you receive your CAS from SOAS you can apply for your Student route visa up to a maximum of:

Six months before the start date of your course, if applying from outside the UK
Three months before the start date of your course, if applying from within the UK
